    The optional Multi Function Battery Pack MB-D100 runs on the six 1.5V LR6 (AA-size alkaline) batteries. It can also be powered by one or two Li-ion batteries, for extended shooting capability. features voice memo recording/playback function, vertical shutter release button, Main and Sub Command Dials, AF start button and a 10-pin remote terminal.
    MB-D100 Battery Pack Information
    The MB-D100 is an external battery pack/hand grip for the Nikon D100 digital SLR camera. It allows you to use 6 (six) LR6/AA batteries (alkaline or lithium) or two Nikon EN-EL3 batteries. It also includes:
    alternate shutter release (for taking pictures with the camera held in the vertical position)
    front command dial
    AE-L/AF-L button
    Microphone record button
    Standard 10-pin remote terminal
    With six fresh AA alkaline batteries the MB-D100 will power the camera for approximately 400 shots. A single EN-EL3 battery will last for approximately 1600 shots.
