Baltimore Souvenir Vintage Mother Pearl Letter Opener & End for Dip Pen Boxed

Still in place in the original box is a mother of pearl shell letter opener, and what I think is the end for a  dip pen which needs the metal attachment and nib. Both have "Baltimore, Md"  written in  black ink. The opener is 4 1/2 inches long and 1/2 inch at the widest; the pen top just over 4 inches and just over 1/4 inch at the widest. The black ink on the opener has some wear, making the "i" look more like an "I". The box is toned and there's some fading and a stain  on the cardboard the items rest on.
